Chef Jorg Zupan is one of Slovenia’s most dynamic culinary talents, celebrated for marrying fine-dining precision with a bold, down-to-earth approach. After honing his craft in some of Europe’s most acclaimed Michelin-starred kitchens, including The Fat Duck, Maaemo, and Pied à Terre, he returned to Ljubljana to take the helm at Atelje, where he learned its first Michelin star. In 2023, Zupan launched AFTR, a vibrant new concept that breaks away from the stiffness of traditional fine dining. At AFTR, the focus is on spontaneity, social energy, and playful, globally inspired cuisine rooted in Slovenian traditions. A passionate advocate for sustainability, Zupan grows much of his own produce and leads a kitchen grounded in balance, collaboration, and craftsmanship.
